Georgina Begic 1901 - 1973
This is Georgina Begic, she was born on Friday, 7 June 1901, in Zamlaca, the daughter of Petar Begic and Ana Lucic.
At the age of 24, Georgina married Andrija Dembic in Zrin on Sunday, 6
September 1925. Andrija aged 27 was born in Zrin on the 27th November 1898. He lived in house number 91 with his father Matej Dembic, mother Ivka Slovic and 9 siblings. The witnesses to this marriage were Rafael Gjaic and Josip Petanjek.
Georgina’s life was turbulent, she managed to flee Zrin with her two daughters, Manda and Marija as well as several other women, they hid in the hills above Zrin, the elders refer to this place as Strana. They waited about 8 days hoping for help then began to walk in the direction of Divusa. Georgina went to Zamlac to her brother Stanko Begic and Manda Mladanovic, heavily pregnant went to Kostajnica.
Georgina died in Drenje on 10th October 1973, she was 72

Franjo Dembic was born in Zrin on 29 May 1928. He died in Australia on 25 March 2007, at the age of 78. Marija Dembic was born in Zrin. Manda Dembic. Anka Dembic was born in Zrin.
